Automatically enrolled students SHOULD NOT create their own voluntary account in Academic HealthPlans (AHP). Automatically enrolled students are sent to AHP by MSU. When a student's enrollment is added to AHP, they will receive an email from AHP/Care26 system to indicate enrollment. By clicking "take me there," a student may create their account credentials or login to an existing account.

Voluntarily enrolled students will register their own account with Academic HealthPlans (AHP) or login to existing account

To access your AHP member portal, please visit: Care26 Student

Log in using your school credentials or follow the prompts to create an account if you are a voluntary student. For step-by-step assistance on how to navigate the portal, please refer to the Student User Guide.

Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) are automatically enrolled in Academic Emergency Services (AES). Additionally, international students who waive SHIP are also enrolled in AES.

There can be a few reasons why you can't access the AHP system.

  • You forgot your username and password. Please contact AHP regarding issues with username and password. MSU doesn't manage their website.
  • Your information has not been processed by AHP yet. Student insurance gets eligibility files daily from MSU. These files must be vetted, edited, and uploaded to AHP. Then, AHP must complete their processing of the files before your information is available on the website. AHP must have your information on file in order to process either your waiver or enrollment. This process can take a week to be completed.
  • You recently registered for classes and your information has not been processed yet.
  • You already have completed the process in the previous semester.
  • The enrollment and waiver deadlines have passed.
  • Your eligibility changed based on your enrollment status.
