Your auto insurance carrier may also request a coordination of benefits (COB) letter, which is different from a QHC. Please contact your respective health insurance carrier to request a COB. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will immediately send a secured email with the letter attached.
MSU employee, retiree, graduate assistant, and student health plans meet the requirements to be considered qualified health coverage. MSU health plans do not exclude or limit coverage for injuries related to motor vehicle accidents. Health plans through MSU have an annual deductible of $6,579 or less per individual.
The basic no-fault auto policy has three parts: Personal Injury Protection (PIP); Property Protection Insurance (PPI) and Residual bodily injury and property damage liability. The PIP portion of your no-fault policy pays for medical costs if you are hurt in a motor vehicle accident. Keep in mind that Michigan No-Fault Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage pays for more than medical expenses — including things like attendant care, housing modifications, lost wages, etc. You should discuss PIP coverage and other motor vehicle coverage with your auto carrier or agent.
