Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure Form

Introduction

The RPT inbox contains a listing of faculty members for whom the RPT process is required. These will be individual forms ready for recommendations to be entered for reappointment, promotion or tenure. The form will begin at the organizational unit level.  Once recommendations are entered and submitted into workflow, the form  will move from Organizational unit approval to College level approval. Once recommendations are entered and submitted at the College level, the form will move  on to Central HR approval. 

To begin, from Reappointment, Promotion & Tenure:

  1. Select RPT Inbox.
  2. List of employees available for the current cycle year will appear on the left.    
  3. A search field is available to look for specific individuals based on name, approval level or rank.

Open and Process an Individual Record 

  1. Select an employee by clicking on the record.
  2. Select Open Task in bottom right corner.
  3. Employee data will be visible and displayed.  Scroll down to the Recommendations section to enter recommendation at applicable level:
    • If form is at Organizational Unit level approval:
      • Has this person been assigned a mentor?:  Select from the dropdown Yes or No
      • Organizational Unit Recommendation:  Select the recommendation from the dropdown list
      • Based on the above entered recommendation, a reason(s) might be required.
    • If form is at College level:
      • Has this person been assigned a mentor?:  Select from the dropdown Yes or No if this has changed from the Organizational unit level. This will overwrite what was entered at Organization unit level.
      • College Recommendation:  Select the recommendation from the dropdown list
      • Based on the above entered recommendation, a reason(s) might be required.

*Notes can be saved at any level in free text form.  The notes can be edited and/or deleted as needed. 

Post Recommendation Processing

The form can be downloaded at any processing level by selecting the Download PDF button in the top right corner.  

Once recommendations are entered, the following processing steps can be selected from the bottom right corner:

  • Send:  The record will be sent on to the next approval/recommendation level determined with workflow.  
  • Back to Author:  This will send the record back to the prior workflow/approval level for adjustments.
  • Save Draft:  The record will be saved for later processing at current workflow/approval level.
  • Cancel:  Changes will not be saved; user will be directed to the home inbox screen.

Authorization & Access

To complete the recommendation process and view the correct list of employees, users must have the applicable security role in place: 

  • Department role:  ZDHR_RPT_DEPT_XXXXXXXX
  • College role:  ZDHR_RPT_MAU_XXXXXXXX

Employees will be routed to the correct department based on their tenure granting department.
