The bi-weekly cadence allows us to offer a more consistent, resource-rich, and engaging onboarding experience while improving operational efficiency across the University.

The new bi-weekly schedule begins following the July 30 session. The first session under the new cadence will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and orientations will occur every other Wednesday moving forward.

New hires who begin during an orientation off-week will receive an email with a benefits overview video , key resources, and Solutions Center drop-in hours. We encourage employees to schedule time to visit the Solutions Center if help is needed.

Yes. Departments may onboard new hires any week, but should coordinate additional support during off-weeks using provided resources, including the content available in MSU HR's Toolkits for New Employees and Solutions Center drop-in support.

At this time, orientation will only be offered bi-weekly.

New hires will still receive timely access to benefits information and enrollment instructions, even if they attend orientation after their first week of employment.

Upcoming orientation dates are available on this page above in the section "Upcoming New Hire Orientation Sessions" and will be included in communications from the Solutions Center.
