Data Definitions (HRP1102)

The data columns used in the Succession Planning Detail Page report are defined on this page.

  1. Organization Code & Name: The primary college or MAU in which the employee is assigned.
  2. Department Code & Name: The primary department in which the employee is assigned.
  3. Sub-Org Code & Name: The sub-org in which the employee is assigned (if applicable).
  4. Person ID: An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to all of their assignments.
  5. Personnel Number: An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to their benefits eligible assignment.
  6. Professional Name: The employee's professional last and first name as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  7. Personnel Subarea Code: A Further breakdown of the Personnel Area. The principal organization aspects of HR are controlled at this level, including work schedules, pay scales, public holiday calendar, and wage type.
  8. Employee Group Name: Union, Non-Union. The employee group allows you to divide your employees into groups and allows you to define their relationship to the enterprise. It classifies employees into general groups for processing of Payroll, Time and Benefits.
  9. Employee Subgroup Code & Name: A further breakdown of Employee Group. All control features of the Personnel Structure are defined at the Employee Subgroup level including specific payroll calculations for hourly or salaried employees, work schedules, and benefit groupings.
  10. Job Title: The employee's primary job title or classification in which the employee is assigned.
  11. Pay Scale Level: The number level signifying range of pay assigned to the employee’s job title or classification.
  12. Employment Percentage: The percent of employment that the employee is working.
  13. Annual Salary: The base salary for a full year at 100% employment.
  14. Continuous Service Date: The employee’s hire date, last rehire date, or last position adjustment date without a break of service.
  15. Seniority Date: The employee's seniority date as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  16. Time in Level Date: The date the employee entered the pay grade (scale) level.
  17. Benefit Eligible Date: The employee’s hire date, last rehire date, or last position adjustment date in a benefits eligible position with no more than a 30-day break of service.
  18. Original Retirement Date: The day after the employee’s last day of employment in a benefits eligible position and meeting one of the two minimum retirement requirements (15 years of service and at least age 62, or 25 years of service at any age), and the first day as an “official retiree” of MSU.
  19. Retirement Eligibility Date: The first day of employment in a benefits eligible position where the employee is earning credit (time and FTE service months) toward meeting one of the two minimum retirement requirements.
  20. Years at MSU: The number of years working in a benefits eligible position at MSU.
  21. Vested Date: The first date the employee met one of the two minimum retirement requirements while in a benefits eligible position.
  22. Years Until Eligible to Retire: The number of years between the date the report is run and the employee’s Vested Date. Employees who have already retired (and have an Original Retirement Date) should be listed as “Currently Eligible."
  23. Date of Birth: The employee's date of birth as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  24. Age: The employee's age based on their date of birth as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  25. Supervisor Name: The employee's supervisor name as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
