Retirement Plan Core Investment Menu Update

Michigan State University reviews the investment options available through the 403(b) Retirement Plan and the 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan accounts to continue to help MSU employees meet their financial goals and investment objectives. As a result, the following updates to the core investment menu options will be effective this summer.

Fidelity Core Investment Menu

To include lower cost investment funds and to reduce the redundant investment options, the following are the upcoming changes in the Fidelity core investment menu for current contributions:

• The Vanguard Target Retirement 2015 Fund will be merged with the Vanguard Target Retirement Income Fund (this is directed by Vanguard).
• The Vanguard Target Retirement 2070 Fund will be added to the core menu.
• The Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund – Institutional Shares fund will be replaced by the lower cost share class Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund – Institutional Plus Shares fund .
• The Dodge & Cox Stock Fund – Class I share fund will be replaced by the lower cost share class Dodge & Cox Stock Fund – Class X share fund .
• The Fidelity Contrafund – K share fund will be replaced by the Rowe Price Institutional Large Cap Growth Fund .

If you currently have an account at Fidelity, you will receive a communication in late-May/early-June from Fidelity with more detail about these changes that will take place this summer.

TIAA Core Investment Menu

To include lower cost investment funds and to reduce the redundant investment options, the following are the upcoming changes in the TIAA core investment menu for current contributions:

• The Vanguard Target Retirement 2015 Fund will be merged with the Vanguard Target Retirement Income Fund (this is directed by Vanguard).
• The Vanguard Target Retirement 2070 Fund will be added to the core menu.
• The Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund – Institutional Shares fund will be replaced by the lower cost share class Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund – Institutional Plus Shares fund .
• The Dodge & Cox Stock Fund – Class I share fund will be replaced by the lower cost share class Dodge & Cox Stock Fund – Class X share fund .
