Care.com Premium Membership Discontinuation
The university-provided employee benefit of a premium membership with Care.com will be discontinued effective February 1, 2025. Existing Care.com memberships will be automatically converted to the free basic membership—no action is necessary for existing members.
The university prioritizes providing access to quality care for employees and their families. In early 2025, the Request for Proposal (RFP) process will begin to research options for an equitable benefit to meet this need while optimizing resources to reach a broad and inclusive employee population.
To upgrade to a Premium membership at your own expense starting February 1, login to your Care.com account and click “Upgrade” in the upper right corner.
Upcoming Communication
Existing Care.com members were sent an email communication from MSU Human Resources on January 13. Additionally, members will receive an email communication from Care.com the morning of February 1 that will state the following:
“Your Care.com membership has been updated as a result of your organization discontinuing their paid program on your behalf. You now have Basic Membership access, which allows you to view caregivers’ profiles. If you would like to upgrade your Care.com account to Premium Membership in order to continue to send messages to caregivers and access background check options, click here [link will be provided]. Please contact your organization with questions or our Care.com Member Care team at careteam@care.com.”
