HR-Payroll Inbox Claim-Release
How the automatic “Claim” and “Release” functionality works.
When you open an item in the HR/Payroll Inbox (whether it opens inside the Inbox or in a new tab or window), the task is “claimed” so that no one else can work on it while you are working on it.
When you load your HR/Payroll Inbox, the first task is automatically selected, and if that task opens inside the HR/Payroll Inbox, that task is claimed so other approvers will not act on it. To “release” it, simply click on another task.
Item claimed by someone else BEFORE my Inbox opens
If someone else has claimed a task that workflow sent to both of you, it will not load in your HR/Payroll Inbox.
Item claimed by someone else AFTER my Inbox opens
If two or more people have a task in their inbox, then someone claims it, other users will receive a message if they try to claim the form. Following this your HR/Payroll Inbox will automatically refresh and remove that and any other tasks that are claimed.
How manual “Claim” and “Release” functionality works.
Items that open in a new tab or window also allow for the ability to “claim” the task so you can work on it later. This is accomplished by the “Claim” button at lower right in the HR/Payroll Inbox. Items that are claimed can be released using the “Release” button at the same location.
