The Leaves team is a six-person team within HR’s Total Rewards area of excellence that supports employees during times when they may be unable to work. We administer a wide range of leave programs while ensuring compliance with university policies and federal and state legislation.

Our team administers leaves protected by the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), medical leaves, administrative leaves, sabbaticals, and other types of leaves. We work diligently to ensure employees understand all their options if they need time away from their jobs.

We also administer Long-Term Disability for employees who are unable to work due to a disability for an extended period and provide end-to-end Workers’ Compensation coverage for employees injured on the job.

In our roles, we support employees during joyful times, such as welcoming a new family member, as well as those who are facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.
