Introducing Resources for Employee Transitions
Job changes are some of the most important moments throughout our lives. That’s why MSU is pleased to announce a new program and resources for employee transitions at the university. Whether you’re a new employee to MSU, transitioning to a new role, or leaving MSU due to retirement or a job transition, these resources help create a structure and support to help reduce the stress and anxiety that may come with such a big life-event.
At MSU we place tremendous value in supporting our employees, and through countless shared experiences and strategic conversations, university leadership identified employee job transitions as an area of opportunity. They put together a workgroup of representatives from across campus to assemble existing resources, identify gaps, and rollout a formal Employee Transition Program that employees and unit leaders could utilize.
A new Employee Transitions SharePoint site is now available with extensive resources for employees, supervisors and HR representatives to utilize. An MSU NetID is required to use the site.
Visit the Employee Transitions SharePoint site here.
For those new to MSU, there is a New Employee Welcome Program to provide a personal connection point and a warm welcome, while also sharing important information on MSU’s history and what makes Spartans so special. This program is held the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month beginning Jan. 11, 2021, and will be held via Zoom for the time being. Employees must register to attend the program. Visit the Toolkits for New Employees HR webpage for more information on the program and to register. Employees who are not new to MSU but would still like to attend the program are welcome to register; preference will be given to new employees where space is more limited.
These resources provide consistency in the employee experience and provide a framework for units to follow and allows them to focus their time and energy on creating a personal experience for new or departing employees. This will allow us to achieve greater connectivity across campus and enhance the employee experience and engagement, further supporting Spartan success stories.
