Distinguished Staff AWARD NOMINATIONS

The Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Awards committee encourages nominations of deserving support staff. Please share with your units as nominations are due in one week.

The award is named in honor of Jack Breslin, who served MSU as a student leader, athlete, administrator and advocate. Each of the six persons awarded the honor will receive a $2,500 stipend and be recognized with a citation at a special reception on May 13, 2019.

Nominees must be regular, active employees with at least five years of service in a support staff position. Nominees will be evaluated on achievement in four areas:

  1. Excellence in overall job performance above and beyond what is expected
  2. Outstanding interpersonal skills and working relationships
  3. Contributions to the department that lead to improved efficiency or effectiveness
  4. Contributions to the university (committees, outreach, volunteer work)

Distinctive achievement in each of the four areas constitutes the strongest case for selection, but particularly outstanding achievement in one area may also be recognized. Learn more about the  awards here.

Any member of the university, including co-workers, supervisors, faculty members or students, may nominate an eligible staff member. View the nomination form .

A complete nomination packet containing the nomination form and support letters should be emailed to serviceawards@hr.msu.edu or mailed to 1407 S. Harrison Rd., Suite 250 no later than Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
