Data Definitions (HRP1184)

The data columns used in the IPF Personnel Transactions report are defined on this page.  Report is sorted by Action Start Date and Professional Name.

  1. Person ID:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to all their assignments.
  2. Personnel Number:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to their benefits eligible assignment.
  3. NetID:  The employee’s MSU NetID as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  4. Employee Name:  The name of the employee as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  5. Personnel Subarea Code:  The HR/Payroll system code for personnel subarea.  Personnel subarea is a further breakdown of the Personnel Area.  The principal organization aspects of HR are controlled at this level, including work schedules, pay scales, public holiday calendar, and wage types.
  6. Employee Subgroup:  The HR/Payroll system code for employee subgroup, it is a further breakdown of employee group.  All control features of the Personnel Structure are defined at the Employee Subgroup level.
  7. Department Code:  The primary department code in which the employee is assigned.    
  8. Department Name:  The primary department name in which the employee is assigned.  
  9. SubOrg Code:  The primary sub department code in which the employee is assigned.  
  10. SubOrg Name:   The primary sub department name in which the employee is assigned.  
  11. Job Title:  The employee’s primary job title or classification based on the job code in which the employee is assigned.
  12. Hire Date:  The date the employee was hired as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  13. Action Type Code:  The code for the type of action entered on the employee record in the HR/Payroll system.
  14. Action Type Name:  The name for the type of action based on the action type code entered on the employee record in the HR/Payroll system.
  15. Action Reason Code:   The code for the reason why the action was entered on the employee record.
  16. Action Reason Name:  The name for the reason why the action was entered on the employee record.
  17. Action Effective Date:  The effective date of the action on the employee record.
  18. Supervisor NETID:  The employee’s supervisor MSU NetID as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
