pageup applicant statuses
MSU Human Resources has undergone a review of applicant statuses in the PageUp portal, specifically focusing on the visibility of archived statuses and the creation of new statuses impacting disposition codes, as well as removing related screening language.
-
Effective August 1, 2024, new statuses for applicants in the PageUp portal are being created, as well as alterations to both archived and currently active statuses across five recruitment areas: Executive Management, Faculty and Academic Staff, MSU Extension, Support Staff, and Temp-on-call.
- Each recruitment category, such as Executive Management, Faculty and Academic Staff, Extension Application Statuses, Support Staff, and Temp/On-Call, have specific changes.
- Initial screening of qualified applicants, applicants who meet bidding eligibility, and applicants with bypass eligibility, will be conducted by the hiring unit.
- These improvements not only make MSU's hiring processes more efficient but also more responsive and candidate friendly.
- Clearer, more direct communication also ensures that candidates are quickly informed about their application status, reducing uncertainty and improving overall candidate satisfaction.
Compliance and Efficiency
These updates to the recruitment process across various categories at Michigan State University (MSU) represent a significant stride towards enhancing efficiency and clarity in hiring practices, while ensuring compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations.
- We have archived several detailed interview-related statuses and introducing simplified statuses such as "Not selected for interview" and "Interview Completed - not selected,"
- This will contribute to a more streamlined, transparent process that communicates clearly with applicants at each step.
- Statuses used by MSU HR Analysts have been updated to remove screening language and align with policy, processes, and CBA requirements.
- This overhaul reduces the complexity involved in managing application statuses, minimizing the administrative burden on HR Analysts, allowing departments to focus more on the quality of interactions with potential hires.
- Implementing these changes in the recruitment process is critical to maintain compliance with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations.
