Overview

The Retirement & Age Card provides an overview of workforce age demographics and retirement trends. It summarizes key indicators such as average age, retirement eligibility, and retirement activity among benefit-eligible employees —helping units assess potential retirement impacts and plan for future workforce needs.

Note: This card is only available to users with the Report Administrator Sensitive role due to the inclusion of sensitive demographic data.

 

Key Metrics & Definitions


> Retirement Eligible (%)

    • The percentage of benefit-eligible employees who are eligible for retirement during the fiscal year.
Retirement Eligible (%)     =      
# of employees eligible for retirement that fiscal year

# of active/inactive employees at the start of the fiscal year
x 100

 

> % Retired (of those eligible)

    • The percentage of retirement-eligible employees who retired during the fiscal year.
% Retired    =      
# of employees that were active/inactive on 7/1 and retired that fiscal year

# of employees eligible for retirement that fiscal year
x 100
 

> Average Age of Active Employees

    • The average age of benefit-eligible employees at the start of the fiscal year.
Average Age   =      
Total age of active/inactive benefit-eligible employees on fiscal year start (7/1)

> Average Retirement Age

    • The average age of all employees that retired that fiscal year.

Security & Access


The Retirement & Age Card is available to users with the Report Administrator Sensitive role ONLY.

Org-based security applies; users will only see data for organizations they are permissioned to access.

 

Drilldown Page


Select any data point within the card to open the drilldown page for that fiscal year. To view a different fiscal year, adjust the Fiscal Year filter at the top of the page.

The following filters can be applied on the drilldown page. Click 'Go' to apply your selections.

    • Chart View: Displays employee retirement eligibility by personnel subarea, distinguishing between those who have retired and those who have not.
