Data Definitions (IPF023)

The data columns used in the IPF Shop and Crew Employee Details report are defined on this page.  Report output is sorted into two reports: Shop and Crew.

  1. Resource Type Code – Name:  Resource type and code within the IPF organization.  Further breakdown of employee’s position assignment within IPF.  
  2. Personnel Subarea Code:  The HR/Payroll system code for personnel subarea.  Personnel subarea is a further breakdown of the Personnel Area.  The principal organization aspects of HR are controlled at this level, including work schedules, pay scales, public holiday calendar, and wage types.
  3. Personnel Subarea Name:  The HR/Payroll system name for personnel subarea based on personnel subarea code.
  4. Personnel Number:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to their benefits eligible assignment.
  5. Name:  The name of the employee as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  
  6. MSU NetID: The employee’s MSU NetID as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  7. Employment Status:  The employee’s employment status based on the selected “as of date” prompt.  
  8. Employee Subgroup Code:  The HR/Payroll system code for employee subgroup, it is a further breakdown of employee group.  All control features of the Personnel Structure are defined at the Employee Subgroup level.
  9. Personnel Subarea Name:  The HR/Payroll system name for personnel subarea based on the personnel subarea code assigned.
  10. Employee Subgroup Name:   The HR/Payroll system name for employee subgroup based on the employee subgroup code assigned.   
  11. Department Code:  The primary department code in which the employee is assigned.  Note: In the Crew report output – header is Level 5 Organization Code.  
  12. Department Name:  The primary department name in which the employee is assigned.  Note: In the Crew report output – header is Level 5 Organization Name.
  13. Sub Department Code:  The primary sub department code in which the employee is assigned.  Note: In the Crew report output – header is Level 6 Organization Code.
  14. Sub Department Name:   The primary sub department name in which the employee is assigned.  Note: In the Crew report output – header is Level 6 Organization Name.
  15. Gender:  The employee’s gender as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  
  16. Birth Date:  The employee’s birth date as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.   
  17. Age:  The employee’s age based on their birth date as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  
  18. Race/Ethnicity:  The employee’s race/ethnicity as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  19. Position Number:  The employee’s primary position number in which the employee is assigned.
  20. Position Title:  The employee’s primary position title based on the position number in which the employee is assigned.
  21. Job Code:  The employee’s primary job code in which the employee is assigned.
  22. Job Title:  The employee’s primary job title or classification based on the job code in which the employee is assigned.
  23. Supervisor Name:  The employee’s supervisor as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  24. Capacity Utilization Level:  The percent of employment the employee is working.
  25. Annual Salary:  The employee’s base salary.
  26. Hourly Rate:  The employee’s hourly rate based on annual salary and capacity utilization level.
  27. Continuous Service Date:  Indicates the number of years the employee has been employed without any breaks in service.
