Data Definitions (HRP1148)

The data columns used in the Faculty and Academic Staff Reductions report are defined on this page.  

  1. Person ID:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to all their assignments.  
  2. Personnel Number:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to their benefits eligible assignment.  
  3. Professional Last Name:  The professional last name of the employee as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  
  4. Professional First Name:  The professional first name of the employee as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  5. Email:  The employee’s MSU email address (@msu.edu).  
  6. Organization Code:  The primary college or MAU code in which the employee is assigned.  
  7. Organization Name:  The primary college or MAU name in which the employee is assigned.
  8. Department Code:  The primary department code in which the employee is assigned.  
  9. Department Name:  The primary department name in which the employee is assigned.
  10. Sub-Org Code:  The primary sub-org code in which the employee is assigned.
  11. Sub-Org Name:  The primary sub-org name in which the employee is assigned.
  12. Position Number:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to a position.  
  13. Position Title:  The employee’s primary position title assigned to the employee’s position number.  
  14. Job Code:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to a job.  
  15. Job Title:  The employee’s primary job title or classification in which the employee is assigned.  
  16. Primary Assignment End Date:  The end date of the employee’s primary assignment as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  17. Personnel Subarea:   A further breakdown of the Personnel Area.  The principal organization aspects of HR are controlled at this level, including work schedules, pay scales, public holiday calendar, and wage types.  
  18. Employee Group:  Union, Non-Union, Non-Employee/No Pay.  The employee group allows you to divide your employees into groups and allows you to define their relationship to the enterprise.  It classifies employees into general groups for processing of Payroll, Time, and Benefits.  
  19. Employee Subgroup Code:  The HR/Payroll system code for employee subgroup.  
  20. Employee Subgroup Name:  A further breakdown of Employee Subgroup.  All control features of the Personnel Structure are defined at the Employee Subgroup level including specific payroll calculations for hourly or salaried employees, work schedules, and benefit groupings.  
  21. Employment Percent:  The percent of employment the employee is working.
  22. UNTF Percent:  The employee’s current UNTF percent. 
  23. Pre-Reduction Salary Start: The start date of the employee’s pre-reduction salary.  
  24. Pre-Reduction Salary End:  The end date of the employee’s pre-reduction salary.  
  25. Pre-Reduction Salary:   The employee’s annual salary prior to the reduction.  
  26. Reduced Annual Salary Start:   The employee’s reduced annual salary start date.  
  27. Reduced Annual Salary:  The employee’s annual reduced salary.  
  28. Current Status:  Status for the employee as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  
  29. Contract:  Indicates the work contract; Fixed Term, Tenure/Contin, Contract, Roll/Fixed Cntr (if applicable).
