Data Definitions (HRP064)

The data columns used in the Active Employee Listing with All Assignments report are defined on this page.  

  1. Professional Name:  The employee’s professional name as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.
  2. Person ID:  An HR/Payroll system generated number linking a person to all their assignments.
  3. Primary Assignment Organization Code-Name:  The primary organization code and name the employee is assigned.
  4. Primary Assignment Also Reports to Organizations:  The additional organization codes the employee’s primary assignment also reports to.  Up to five additional orgs will be shown if applicable.  
  5. Additional Assignments:  The employee’s additional assignments will be shown if applicable.  Up to five additional assignments will be reported.
  6. Job Title:  The employee’s primary job title or classification in which the employee is assigned.  
  7. Personnel Area Name:  Indicates the personnel area assigned to the employee’s position.  
  8. Personnel Subarea Code:  A further breakdown of the Personnel Area. The principal organization aspects of HR are controlled at this level, including work schedules, pay scales, public holiday calendar, and wage types.
  9. Employee Subgroup Code-Name:  Indicates the employee subgroup code and name assigned to the employee.  All control features of the Personnel Structure are defined at the Employee Subgroup level including specific payroll calculations for hourly or salaried employees, work schedules, and benefit groupings.
  10. Work Address Line 1:  The employee’s work address line 1 as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  RESTRICTED will be shown for employee’s who have selected to restrict their work address.
  11. Work Address Line 2:  The employee’s work address line 2 as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  If the employee has selected to restrict their work address, line 2 will be blank.  
  12. Work Address City:  The employee’s work address city as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  If the employee has selected to restrict their work address, city will be blank.  
  13. Work Address State:  The employee’s work address state as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  If the employee has selected to restrict their work address, state will be blank.  
  14. Work Address Zip Code:  The employee’s work address zip code as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  If the employee has selected to restrict their work address, zip code will be blank.  
  15. MSU Email:  The employee’s MSU email address (@msu.edu).  
  16. Other Business Email:  The employee’s other business MSU email address (@dept.msu.edu) if on file in the HR/Payroll system.
  17. Work Phone Number:  The employee’s work phone number as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  RESTRICTED will be shown for employee’s who have selected to restrict their work phone number.
  18. Work Fax Number:  The employee’s work fax number as indicated in the HR/Payroll system.  RESTRICTED will be shown for employee’s who have selected to restrict their work phone number.
