Campuswide Health Screening Form

Effective immediately, all units should begin using the University's official health screening form for all faculty, staff, student employees and students. Units should use this form moving forward rather than any forms created in the unit. MSU IT and the University Physician’s office have created this form and own this information.

New Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Policy

Effective Aug. 14, 2020, MSU has released its new Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Policy. The University has updated this policy in response to new Title IX regulations from the U.S. Department of Education on the way institutions of higher education respond to sexual harassment, including sexual misconduct and relationship violence. Effective for the 2021 plan year, there is an increase to the benefit level available for optional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. You have the option to enroll in, change or cancel these optional, employee-paid benefits during Open Enrollment in October.

MSU Will Not Participate in the Social Security Deferral Program

Per IRS Notice 2020-65 (released August 28, 2020), employers may elect to defer the withholding and payment of the employee share of social security taxes (6.2%) from September 1 through December 31, 2020. After assessing the overall Social Security deferral plan, MSU has elected to not participate due to the payback burden that will be placed on employees beginning in January 2021. As a result, Social Security taxes will continue to be deducted, as normal. Read more here.
